Either I'm getting old, or losing parts of my mind, or both! It finally occurred to me to measure the sett size and pleat depths on the military box pleated 16 oz MacLaren Weathered kilt I just finished. The sett is 6 7/8 inches; the measured pleat depth is two inches. The "swish" factor, as noted on its last outing, is perfectly fine.

    Below is a clickable thumbnail.

My conclusion is that the XMarks tartan from this weaving run will make up beautifully into a military box pleated kilt.

We need X Marks ancient or weathered. Something with subdued tones, maybe some browns and greens in it.

Time to dredge up an old thread! The jonesing continues!!!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
