I would definitely be more apt to make the schlep to the Hammer for Kilt Nights than Oakville... the drive is shorter, and I have plenty of places to flop for the night if push comes to shove. I will, of course, make the effort whenever I can for the Oakville events. I am a little concerned about the area between Hamilton and Oakville. Seems a bit too much like the kind of place you would see Snake Plisskin!

There are a couple of Irish pubs in the Hamilton area as MacHummel has said.

Uncle Ricky, McMurdo and myself met (the soon-to-be-non-trousered) Twinkletowz and his lovely wife and LK-13 in a quaint little pub* in St. Catherines last night. Improv1 couldn't make it due to "family obligations" I really think he is just avoiding returning my lucky kilt pin, needn't have worried, because my Xmarks pin did catch one young ladies eye! The display of which I hope doesn't get Twinkletowz forbidden to wear a kilt in public before his even comes! It was most enjoyable meeting Xmarks and SOKS' new kilted rabble. It was unfortunate that as the night went on the music got louder the room got darker so conversation became much more difficult. Wish I were 20 again and kilted in that bar... Sorry folks no pics I do need to get a new camera.
*Until 11:00 and the university crowd showed up.

of course I was Babbling on and on for most of the night,
i spend so much time with my dog Marbles that it's nice to be able to talk with humans for awhile.
in hind sight, maybe i should have suggested Patrick Sheehan's on St.Paul Street.
it's a much quieter pub, even though it's an Irish pub lol. (never seen a quiet Irish pub before :P )
oh well plenty of nights left in the year!
i'm making every effort to be Kilted by mid April.
only problem is that each Kilt maker seems to be presenting different issues
that is making ordering a difficult choice.
one only ships FedEx, another wont accept Canada Post Money Orders, yet another may be out of my budget.
nothing is ever easy!

You could always make your own do a search for xkilt, you will find directions and voila you too can be kilted.
It was a good night, I had college age girls hooting at me,
later I accidentally threw my used kleenex into some guys bag, (it was right beside the garbage can in the mens room) most times this would be a problem, however last night the guy says "Thats alright sir, nice kilt!"

well with the bum left hand, making my own kilt is not really an option.
