I was going to say something, and realised it was a bad idea. Instead:

Please do not remember the fifth of November,
    The gunpowder, treason, and plot.
Politically correct is the reason the gunpowder treason,
    Is about to be forgot.

    My apologies for bad verse.

Some things are done in fun, as light hearted jest. No harm meant, and all involved are good sports.

    It seemed fitting somehow...

Here is what I would pay to see... A thousand men wearing black kilts, cloaks, hoods, and masks showing up at the White House* and refusing to leave.

*Insert your local seat of government here.

No, I wasn't thinking political, I was thinking media circus.

Everybody asking what is going on, nobody in the mob saying anything of course, just dead silence, and the frenzy of speculation on what is about to happen.

At the end of the day, march to a pub, drink a pint, and go home.

I'd cut my locks off for charity. If the price was right. But only for that. I'd shave em off and mail them to whomever did the deed.

That is just about the only thing that would make me do it.

Just as there's freedom in wearing a kilt, there's freedom in a freshly shorn noggin

In all seriousness, wearing pants isn't much of a sacrifice, just a loss of comfort. It would be easy to do.

My locks have strong emotional and spiritual meaning for me. It would be painful cutting them off. To be honest, I think I'd rather take bolt cutters and lop off a pinky or something.
