Great choice for your first kiltmaker. And from coastal North Carolina

Hi RonPaul! Welcome from London!
I wouldn't worry at all! You work in a predominantly female environment? Heck, you'll probably be the centre of attention! It will all be positive! You'll wonder what all the fuss was about! With the tat's and stuff too, it will probably add to your character! Enjoy & spread the word!

RonPaul - I am the going through the same feelings as you. I just started wearing my kilt and you do catch some crap from people, but not too bad. I find this board very helpful; and to see so many other people who have the same wants as you is a good feeling. You look great in your kilt dont worry about the people who dont get it.

Oh man! The ladies are gonna go CRAZY! You'll be kicking yourself for waiting so long to be kilted.

Hey,
I'm a nurse, and it doesn't get much more female-dominated than that. My experience is that it's much like any other group. One of my colleages, on seeing me kilted for the first time, asked about the tartan, and then proceeded to tell me how much she wished she could get her husband into a kilt. Another insists on calling my kilt and sporran my "man-skirt" and "fanny-pack."
Just be self-confident, and don't let the (very) few negative comments you'll get, get to you.

Hey RonPaul,
Don't worry about it. I can remember when I got upset when my father told me I couldn't wear my kilt to kindergarten. ( I have been wearing kilts all my life) Just shrug off the few remarks you get, and smile and say Good Day to you! and keep going a non answer is the best. You will find that most people have more important things to do than comment on what you decide to wear. Keep on Kilting!!! CR66
PS- and don't worry about the KILT POLICE either!

It sounds like you are going to look excellent in a kilt!
You should share your stories of how people react once you start wearing your kilt about.
