There are no rules on what to wear. But, you'll find that MANY wear boots with "scroonched doon hose" regularly. Look here... there should be many an example. As a matter of fact I'm wearing black work boots with black hose, and my Ireland's National USAK right now.

I think that boots are great for casual wear, I wear my cats all the time with my kilt.

Caterpillars. Steel toed work boots with the same brand as the machinery. Kinda like how Stanley tools has their own boot line.
I, personally, have had a pair of Cats for about 7 years now... still wear them....
