Thanks Jake. I think what may have surprised me most was the choice of colors. I had always though brown was the standard leather color - much as the Sam Brown was. I know the US Army was leathered in brown until the mid 50's. They issued my Dad a bottle of black leather dye to convert his boots, shoes and such to a black color.
