I supose it could be a case of so many kilts to sew that there is no time for anything else - I have some of that fake suede cloth and from the photos on the website it looks to be a pig to sew up neatly.
As a maker of garments other than kilts I know it is only too easy to accept too many orders and having to give up sleep in order to finish them.
I did think of making kilts for sale, but if I costed them properly I probably could not afford to wear them myself.
