Some fancy tire gauges, letter openers, etc, come with leather or material sheaths that would suit the purpose.

Regardless of what else has been said, I think you looked great.
A lot of people start out with hiking socks or dress socks and plenty of people use their hose to store things.
You're doing just fine.
Take care.

The couple look great. Both blue eyes? I don't usually put anything in my hose if I can avoid it, other than for a sgian dubh. You'll just have to get a larger sporran or a kilt with cargo pockets.
"Kit" is a military term used in Canada to mean your "stuff"/equipment. To "kit and muster" means to draw or put on your uniform/etc and meet somewhere, as on the parade square.
Hiding his wedding ring from the lassies in his hose, hasn't increased Grant's number of kilt checks.

Sporran with cell phone pouch.

You might want to eventually order a Thorfinn Sporran from Turpin. He builds in a special compartment for a cell phone on the inside.

No, no, no, you looked fine. The dark socks worked well and you're slim enough that everything balanced.
My comment was that it is hard to find good kilt knee socks because you either have to order, hoping they are right, or look at a store/booth's limited selection.
There was a bad joke in there because I realized it could be read that it was hard to match socks to each other. I figured that you knew how to do that. I have a strange sense of humour.

Best excuse there is: "The sun came up!"
Wear it around as regular clothes. You pull it off with confidence and the girls can't resist a man with confidence.

Well yes we must have a proper excuse. If we allow ourselves to don a kilt willy-nilly then others will do the same. Before we know it the whole world will be kilt, the mason's will need a new, new world order and there will be no more wars because all man will be comfortable. Can you live with that on your concience? Oh and pizza and beer will be scarce.

Let's see.... I don't own a sporran yet (but I should be making one soonish). So I stuff my phone in between my belt and my kilt (they're about the same width). I also sometimes stick my keys (dangling by the remote) and my wallet in there too. I don't stick in my hose because 1) The closest thing I have to hose are some black soccer socks and 2) I often where sandals (yeah I'm that kind of fashion failure).
Now I wear my wedding ring on a necklace (not chain) around my neck, because it doesn't fit and I've never bothered to get it sized and also because I am wearing the necklace anyway (its the one I gave my wife when we first started dating and she gave back when we got married and she got her rings, its a celtic wolf).
I think the outfit looks great. In fact I think the tie is modern and works great with the outfit. Do you need a sporran? No but you'll probably be happier when you get yours. I think the phone it the hose is a great idea, especially if you a smallish phone (or a knife shaped one, where can I get one of those?). It would make it a good deal easier to answer/get to and ignore.
