My Grandfather always wore his higher, what he called "Army style" and I have always worn mine the same. Like you I think its more comfortable and if I wear an Argyle or PC I don't have to worry about my shirt peaking through below the waist coat or buttons if I have it buttoned.

This is always my dilemma with non-custom kilts.
You can move the underapron strap towards the center about 4 inches and the right side buckles toward the rear about the same. That's typically how you make a larger kilt small, which is much easier than the other way around.

That's what I wanted to hear! Great, I'll start saving up then.

Hey Freddie,
Don't forget to put the Cameron Black and Red from House of Edgar's Old and Rare Collection on your wish list.

I got my 22 oz Black Watch indirectly from WPG. My piper buddy bought it, then decided he needed the cash and immediately sold it to me. I love the thing. The only thing about it that I'm concerned about is how long the buckles will last.

The buckles on both my WPG kilts are holding up very well. I have the Black Watch and Cameron and here in snow country I wear them quite a bit.

Yep, it's gorgeous! As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of getting the MacKenzie tartan kilt, which is box-pleated. The Seaforth Highlanders wore them. By coincidence, my brother's wife's maiden name is MacKenzie. I may get some free suppers by wearing that tartan.
