I can just hear the new Marine Corps slogan:
"The Few, The Proud...........The Kilted Marines". I like the sound of that! Looks great!
Cheers!

Looking sharp, kiltedinUSMC!
sharpdressedscot, check the links Grant posted in #10. Short answer: it's named after the Regiment. Long answer: we don't quite know which name came first.

Kilt looks great, man. I'm curious where in Lowe's you bought that belt.
My problem is that I like the Marine Tartan better than the Navy tartan. But I'm a squid and it just wouldn't be respectful to wear The Marine Tartan when you boys have fought and bled so many times for the rest of this country. To me, you guys deserve that tartan all to yourselves. Oorah!

It's probably dependent on your region. I found the same one at Sears, except I had to scrape off a "Craftsman" logo on the back. It's a very, very dark brown, so it almost makes it with black accessories.
My local Lowe's had some 2-inch belts which looked minimally finished---anyway, they were tan. I thought instead of going to Tandy (leather supplies) for the raw materials.
Look for something called "work belt" around where tool belts may be found, check different brand stores...

I have that belt as well and usually wear it with my utilikilt. I found it in Lowes. It was in the tool section, at the front of our store, where all the powertools, toolboxes, drill bits, etc are.

That's one fine looking kilt, I have one just like it and it was my first kilt. The belt looks good, I have one of them also but it's brown and I have dyed it black to match the rest of my things..
