I am a custom boatbuilder and restorer. Currently I'm a supervisor at ELCO Electric Launch. We build high end classic launches with electric drive systems. However, our latest project is a full refit and restoration of a 1930 50' ELCO flattop motor yacht with twin diesels that was used as a submarine patrol boat in the Chesapeake Bay during WWII.

In April 2007 I retired (with pension and medical insurance) after 34 years in Civil Service – US State government (the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania).
I was XO and for a while Acting CO of a district Public Assistance (Welfare) office in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.
I’ll need a post-retirement part-time position at some point, but there’s no hurry.
I’m currently “stopping to smell the roses” – and having fun with kilts!
Please indulge some “padding”. I may as well practice for my résumé…
I’m “on-call” (but have not been called) to be a part-time Administrative Law Judge (Welfare).
I’m Chief of Graphics for the Out Among The Stars (OATS) Bluegrass Music Festival, held each year on Independence Day (USA) in Benton, Pennsylvania. An unpaid position.
Associations:
I’m a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE), the Philadelphia Folksong Society (PFS), and The Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music (BFOTM).
As a government administrator I was in management – an ”Official” – but I discovered that as a retiree I was eligible to join the Retiree Chapter of a union – the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Have been a Priest for 33 years; Am now semi - retired and self-supporting, by the occasional Wedding, and mainly by conducting funerals for fallen-away Catholics (and Protestants) who can't find a Clergyman to bury them.
In my pre-Priest days I was a Dancing Instructor for Fred Astair, and a Warehouse worker in a Drug company. My Mum insisted that I get 'world/work experience' before Seminary, so I wouldn't later embarrass her by spouting off on subjects that I really knew nothing about. She was one smart lady. It held up my Ordination until I was 30, but I certainly know how life really is, and what my flock has to deal with.
So I tend to be less "Thou Shalt Not" , and more "Hang in there, we're in this together, and I'm not going anywhere".
Thanks Mum.

I'm in my renaissance. I refuse to call it retired.
