I told someone yes I was, I forgot my gloves. Stopped them cold.

I made my regular Sunday morning trip to Church about two weeks ago, with the morning temperature at -10f. I had stopped for fuel at a self serve station and was fueling my vehicle when a young gentleman wrapped in three shirts, sweatshirt, and parka over a pair of way to loose jeans, hanging low enough to display his boxer shorts said to me "you must be freezing in that skirt!" I looked at him, looked down at the fringe of his shorts, looked back up at him and said " My kilt is 24 feet of wool wrapped around the most important part of my body, and it is quite toasty compared to a thin layer of cotton polyester boxer shorts." He looked at me with that "deer in the headlights" look, and quietly pumped the fuel in his car. I finished my fueling and hopped up into the cab of my truck with a big smile on as he had been leaning his tail against the crash Bollard and the shorts had frozen to it. Made my day.

I do get this one all the time up here, I normally say from here, pointing at the top of my hose, to here, pointing to the bottm of my kilt. The all the important bits are toasty. The other day I was going into a gas station to pay after filling up, and one of the two girls inside says:
"We've been having a debate about you."
So I say "And what could that be?"
Her response was" Are you a true Scotsman? I mean in this weather?"
I assured her that the 22oz What Price Glory Gordon Highlanders kilt was so warm that one had to be a "true Scot" in order to insure you didn't overheat.
We all had a good laugh about it.

I'm glad for all these testimonials. I go to Salado, TX, for their annual Higlhand games. If it gets cold, like into the 50s, some men will forgo the kilt saying that it's too cold. I've told them I'm warm, but they weenie out. Thanks for the backing!

I've been out in the freezing weather and had the question, too.
My answer was that there was so much wool ( a 22 oz Gordon from WPG) and hot papa that the temp was not a problem.
I got a smile from the lasses assembled.

I get that question 3 or 4 times a week.
I usually reply 'No, but maybe when winter arrives.'
This response is most effective when it's -35C.

I just tell them I played soccer for so many years my legs are insensible to the cold. Also I point out it's easier for me to take off my jacket when I get hot than for them to take their p***s off when they get hot.
