Ron, I have some Z-Coil combat/work boots with closed in heel. Since I have Type-II Diabetes (genetic unfortunately), they help improve circulation. I wear them on the paintball field occasionally or when I take long walks. Unfortunately the look like high-heels and my friends jokingly call them "hoochie boots" sometimes. Either way, Z-Coils are very comfortable!!

Now, having said all of that . . . 70% - 90% of all my footware is combat boots. I own only 1 pair of dress shoes. I plan on purchasing some piper brogues though . . .

Hey, I have a pair too.

I don't wear them much for hiking since I don't think they were designed for that. Z Coil calls them workboots and I'm guessing that's the intent.

This is an old pic at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon with my old Pittsburgh Kilts Forest MARPAT and wool Filson cruiser jacket.

I love Z Coils because my feet don't hurt when I wear them. And when I quit wearing them they start to hurt again. Thought kilts AND Z Coils was a bit much at the same time at first. Now, who cares.

Think G Man is a Z Coil guy too.
