    Sure Jock

First log into Photobucket and go to your album:

Copy yhe photo you want to put into your post by clicking on the IMG Code at the bottom (I usually click on the one I want then press down the Ctrl and C keys together):

Then come back to X-Marks and Paste it into your post (by pressing down the Ctrl and V keys together):

OK, lets see if we can figure this out with a little procedure....

Follow McMurdo's instructions above until you have copied the link into the clipboard (the command of Cntl-C"

Go to start -> Run and enter the command clipbrd in the space provided.

This will open the clipboard viewer. Is there anything on the clipboard at all?

If not, then the problem is with the copy command. If so, then the problem is with the paste command...
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

If it is any consolation, Jock, I do not have the faintest idea what "the clipboard" is either, at least not in connection with computers! I have been using them for ten years (all but three weeks!) and I have heard of clipart, but not clipboards! I guess I have just never needed one.

    Take care,
    Ham.

PS: Congratulations on getting there with the images at last.

Basically if you think of the copy/paste function in Windows as tucking a note into your pocket to remind yourself of something later, the clipboard is the "pocket" that holds the note. It's the place the note goes when you press control-c (or when you highlight text and right click to copy) and it's the place the note comes from when you press control-v (or when you right click to paste).

Splash_4's instructions for displaying the clipboard basically allow you to look into the pocket to verify that the note you made for yourself is still there. The clipboard is usually running in the background when you do this kind of thing. It's hidden to avoid clutter, but it's the "man behind the scenes" doing the work.

(The above isn't completely technically correct, but I hope it helps illustrate the basic concept.)

Thanks for the pictures, Jock. It's always nice to see historic sites.

    Really simple;
Click under the pic you want where it says IMGcode. a tiny yellow box saying 'copied' will flash on.
Then to Xmarks; in the 'Repy' box, right click and select 'paste' ; A row of code stuff appears (that will be your pic when you submit your reply). It took me days to work it out, but Mc murdo & the rest of the rabble kept at me until I finally got it right.
