They're pretty easy to find (and less expensive) at the local fabric store.
@ meinfs: no, I don't have ths kills to hand sew that well yet, but I hope to hand sew my next kilt. @ aldisimo: thanks, it took a lot of pleating time but it was worth it. @ beedee: they are hem clips, they are about $2.50 for a bag of 6 at Hancock Fabric.
