Looks great so far Hector. Looking forward to the finished kilt being worn.
Thanks for excellent shots of your process steps.

OK, here's some snaps of the finished kilt, completed and being worn by none other than yours truly in my sunday's best 'at home tshirt'

The process went smooth like my other kilts, but the main difference as it may be obvious, was the military box pleating.

It is VERY time consuming and it is a PITA to baste and maneuver due to its inherent capacity to sway at the slightest movement.

Whenever I get my Weathered Young Tartan I will make it another Mil Box Pleat. As for the Young Modern...a handsome knife pleated it will be.

Awesome Hector! Job very well done! Did you handsew or machine sew the pleats?

That looks great! I am so inspired by what you and other guys here achieve, and in such a short time, too.

Hector - that looks great! Fantastic job! What were the clips you used to hold the pleats in one of the earlier shots?

They looked to me like hem clips -- see here

I'm not saying this is the best place to buy them, just the first Google result that popped up

They're pretty easy to find (and less expensive) at the local fabric store.

@ meinfs: no, I don't have ths kills to hand sew that well yet, but I hope to hand sew my next kilt.

@ aldisimo: thanks, it took a lot of pleating time but it was worth it.

@ beedee: they are hem clips, they are about $2.50 for a bag of 6 at Hancock Fabric.
