I've cleared it with the appropriate department officials, and the Saltire has received permission to fly through Japanese air space.
(Count me in too)...

If the winds blow it here to west-central Illinois I'll be sure to send it on up to our rabble in Chicago after I've taken a short jaunt with it here in the cornfields.

Great Idea Jaime. I would definitely be interested in helping you fulfill your journey. Since I am in the state right next to yours, I'd be happy to have one of the last legs of the trip and then send it to you afterwards. I would be able to get Retro Red, Drobin, Arizona Scot and who knows who else. I could always send it up to Ron also to make sure he gets included.
We'll have to be able to monitor it's current journey as things go on. Possibly a thread that is designed to just say where it currently is, and it's next stop, so we can all keep up with it.

Jamie,
Perhapse if everyone could take a photo with the Salter at their city limit sign if possible it would help to document the path the Salter has taken around the world. There would of course be other photos to post as well. Are you going to set up a dedicated thread for posting these photos? Anyhoo, just my two cents for what its worth.

I sure hope I get to sign the log book given how close Mikey is to me. Is the Saltire not going to Europe in an attempt to stop David from modifying it?

This is a wonderful idea, Jamie. I'd be delighted to take the Saltire to a Twin Tiers Kilt Night. Woodsheal and I, and perhaps andyfg and padraig, would sign the logbook and sent her on to her next destination.

I know it wouldn't work for the mailings, but when the Saltire is personally passed to another member, it might be nice to have a picture of it taking place.
I can foresee some members arranging to meet up just to pass on the Saltire.
