Tweed is looking better and better for kilting!

Yeah,I can't pull it off, though. I look BAD in tweed. The Black Stewart from that other thread, though...

Please pass this on to the Lady Chrystel. It's just about the most powerful compliment I can give on this forum.
Lady C, because of your tweed double-box pleated kilts, I bought 3 yards of wool tweed this past weekend with intent to make my own tweed kilt.
It'll be a while, probably around Christmas before I get to it, but I am looking forward to this. Your work is gorgeous, and I only hope to approximate it in my own....but even THAT will be worth it.

Thank you for your compliment.
I translated it to Chrystel and she is very grateful.

Yes, between you and Phil, I think you're starting a movement within a movement. We'll all be in tweed by Winter 2009! Beautifully done, and I also loved the photography as much this time as the library scene. You and Lady Chrystel are raising the bar on both box kilts and they way you feature them in pictures.
Regards,
Rex

Thank you Phil - yes, I have been wearing tweed kilts since May 2000, although it is only in the last three years that I have become so very truly enamoured of them. There are now six in The Kilt Kollection, but none of them double box-pleated!!
That being said - Robert's latest tweed kilt suit is just stunning and surpasses any I have previously seen. As many others here have stated, I will just HAVE to order one of The Lady Chrystel's kilts soon, but I cannot find time until the Autumn to begin thinking about a choice of tweed.
Take care,
Ham.
