Last Sunday I was wearing the kilt in church; afterward we had a potluck and I got the question from an older lady, I replied with the shoes and sock line, she turned a nice shade of beat red! She recovered and asked "no really, what's up?" Too which I replied "nothing", another shade or beat red; she didn't quit and asked "well do you or don't you?" to which I said "Yes", after which she found someone else to bother.

Scooby was asked "the question" several times at our canoe clubs party last week. We had rehearsed several of the nine year old appropriate stock answers, but he found himself unable to deliver them in a real time situation.

The "Kilt Check" is something that annoys me.
If I walked up to a strange woman and either asked what she was wearing under her skirt, or worse shoved my hand up there to see myself, I'd find myself in court, and on the sex offenders register very quickly.
However, If any of these things happen to me when wearing my kilt, It's just a big joke.
I'm tolerant of many things in this world, but double standards and hypocrisy are not one of them

This ticks me off on 2 levels. It seems that she thought it was OK had you been a worker at the restaurant. As someone that works (part-time) in said business I take that as pretty insulting in itself. YES wait staff, chefs, line cooks, even the owners, etc. we ARE servants. But we are not slaves. Secondly YOU, my friend were offended regardless of whether you were an employee not. Who does this think she is? I would not expect you to put up with that from even Liz Windsor.
