I ordered my 6 yd casual 16 oz Lochcarron Weathered MacDonald over 5 weeks ago, the very day they shifted from their old web site to their new version, and their casual kilt sale portion of the webpage was not functional yet so I called them and ordered it over the phone to be billed to my Paypal (I had some funds there I needed to spend from something I had sold recently). Got the invoice through Paypal a couple days later for the casual kilt in the appropriate tartan at the right price (I also ordered matching flashed---what the heck) and so I payed it and my order was in process. About two weeks ago They contacted me about a couple specific details related to sizing and my specific tartan which was corrected quickly and my kilt promised forthwith. Been champing at the bit since, and got the package yesterday when I got home from work. Imagine my surprise when I opened the package and found a perfectly made, perfectly fitting kilt made in beautiful weathered colors of the MacDonald of Glengarry tartan instead of my ordered Clan Macdonald Weathered. Aaaarrrrggghhh. Bummer. (Interestingly my invoice says Weathered MacDonald, the hang tag on the kilt says Weathered MacDonald of Clanranald, while the Lochcarron fabric and build tag inside the actual kilt says the correct Weathered macdonald of Glengarry). Made the calls today, and after a bit of investigation discovered that the confusion arose because the MacD Weathered was listed on their previous casual kilt sale web page but for the NEW web page they no longer offered it but rather instead the MacD Wthrd of Glengarry (which adds a lovely bright white stripe right in the middle of the red strip cluster). Accomodating enough folks, the initially said that I could buy the tartan I requested only in a full 8 yard kilt (at more than twice the price) or keep the kilt with the incorrect tartan and they would provide me with a $50CDN credit on their website. Not preferring either of those options the service rep passed my concerns up to her supervisor, and I have just recieved an email that I will be returning the mis-manufactured kilt and flashes and they will be making me a knew one in the appropriate tartan. Yeah for good customer service. Now just a trip to the post office, another few weeks of repeat jonesing, and hopefully things will be right when it gets here next time.

I just wish it had gone better the first time around, but at least I did not need it in a hurry and they DID the right thing once the error was discovered. Thanks Burnett's & Struth.

Will keep all posted when it gets here. And now I find they are adding several more tartans to the list---I just got over getting this kilt past the wife's approval meter, which is pretty hard to register on these days. What will I do if they have something else I want.
