Hi Martin, and "Welcome" from a soggy and chilly West Sussex, near Worthing.
As has been stated, here you will find, or be able to obtain, all the advice you could possibly need when it comes to kilts and kilt-wearing. I have plenty of experience - 1st kilt at age 14 in Portsmouth (!); began serious kilt-wearing at around age 62 when I started accumulating them and getting rid of trousers. Now, at almost 73, I have worn nothing else around the nether regions for almost 10 years ...... ye'll nay find troosers at a' in ma hoose!
One thought regarding your wedding: you say you are Welsh - then surely a Welsh, perhaps your family, tartan would be worth serious consideration? http://welshtartans.bpweb.net/welsh-...age=1&sort=20a will take you in the right direction initially. Any kiltmaker is able to obtain the tartan for you - you do not have to use The Wales Tartan Centre!
Questions? Just ask. Someone here will know the answers.
Take care,
Ham.
