By the way, Mein, I did ask a few questions about cap badges over in the Tartan and Heraldry forum. It looks like the only thing that might cause an issue is if the paw print has a circle or "circlet" around it. There doesn't seem to be any issue with putting the symbol in a buckle and strap like the clan badges have around their crests.
There are on-line stores selling Bear Pride paw jewellery and something like that might work out well on it's own as a cap badge. It does seem like the right thing to put on a bonnet in the case of this tartan.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Cool -- I don't have a bonnet or any Scottish head gear, nor plan on using them (I don't like the way it looks on me). Where else can you use a clan badge?

Um... I don't know...
But a Bear Paw would make a very nice kilt pin I would think.
Now that I think about it, a clan badge can be mounted on some of the metal cantle dress sporrans.
Guess you could get a bear fur, dress sporran too.

I found a paw print clay-polymer brooch pin, albeit of a dog paw, from etsy.com.
Bear fur on a sporran -- wow. That's an idea. (are all bears or some bear species on the endangered list?) hmm.

I know I have come across bear fur sporrans on the Scottish Tartans Museum web site; I think they were black bear. I don't know much about it. Might be a bit overboard.
Guess a dog paw is a lot like a bear paw. The ones I have come across on the web are usually with the search words "bear pride paw," or something like that. Just a thought.
* Sorry, Meins, just got excited about the idea. *

Wow. That is a must-have kilt. Where's mine?
The work is just amazing.
I can't wait to see it on someone. Photos coming? (I hope.)

Mein,
That is an extraordinarily attractive tartan (or maybe it's just the colours) and you have made a really beautiful looking kilt from it. From you photos we can see the superb workmanship you have put into it but, like others here have said, we MUST see images of it actually being worn. Well done my friend.
Take care,
Ham.

Wonderful to see the pics of your work. I'm with Ham, lets see some pics of you wearing it too.
By the way, when do you sleep?
