I gather crowds at events no matter what I'm wearing. Kilted, the crowds just get a little larger Being tattoo'd, an ex hunting guide, ex commercial fisherman in Alaska, and sneakily handsome doesn't hurt, either

I read the first post to my wife and she smiled and added affirmation. Evidently I carry myself a bit more confidently while kilted as well. Never noticed it, but she sure did.

I don't change anything when kilted. It's just another outfit from the closet.

I don't think so !!!
Sorry Pastorsteve, BUT a kilt is NOT just another piece of wardrobe, if it was, why bother ??? You choose to wear yer kilt rather than the same old breeks.

I am daily kilted. Most of the time is in a tartan knife pleated kilt, and some occasions in a plain colour contemporary kilt.
There are differences in the attitude around me between the two.
1.)In a tartan kilt, worn in the traditional manner:
Approached by many people. Lasses with all kinds of compliments, and interest in the gent in the kilt. Lads give the eyeball of envy, or come over and ask good relevant questions about the kilt.
2.)In a tartan kilt, worn in a casual manner:
Approached by many people, most with curiosity, and compliments. A bit of interest from the young lasses, and an eye from the older lasses. Differing look from the gents.
3.)A plain colour modern or contemporary kilt:
Occasional confusion with a skirt, and a thumbs up from the young gents in their low slung trousers. Pretty much ignored by the lasses.
Has required that I am approachable, and keeps my social skills sharp. I have worn the kilt for so long that it is the garment that is on me as my normal kit. I have been told that I give off the attitude that all is normal around me. The children that I teach only have a comment when I am not wearing it.
Yes, I probably walk a little taller and lengthen my pace a bit. I have been told by many, that my pace manages to keep the pleats a flyin' and they think that is good.

This is very interesting and instructive. Thank You.
Personaly , I just feel I'm my true self when wearing a kilt. My personality beems out. I wear throusers when I want to be icognito... perfect for hiding in a crowd for swift action.

Certainly! I think I walk a bit taller and a bit prouder when kilted. It's nice to have some of the attention, but it's great to have the freedom!

Yes, I am feeling better in a kilt. Therefore I am exclusively kilted for the last 5 years.
