Cheers

You're very lucky, Chris.
It's my understanding that April sixth is also California poppie day in California. Hope all goes well.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose

Don't be surprised if no one takes you up on your offer for a face to face. People like this are always braver when they can talk about you behind your back.
A kilted Celt on the border.

I've Now Suspecious
I am now wondering if it's not the friend who called me, to be the one wagging his tongue. I confronted the choir just as I said I would, and no one said they had a problem with my kilt. One of the women did joke with me, saying the only complaint she had, was that my legs are better looking than hers. The friend.....named Arga.....works nights and is never at practice. Everyone, so far, in the congregation that has ever said anything to me, have all been positive remarks. Arga called me again yesterday, and literally begged me not to wear my kilt anymore, maybe once a year, but not every Sunday. And it's just the way that he went on and on about it, makes me think that it's him, and he's covering his thoughts, by telling me it's someone else. Then when I told him that I was going to keep wearing it reguardless of what he said or what anyone else says, he goes into saying that since I'm not full blooded Scottish, I have no right to wear it........just another ploy to stop me from wearing it. I told him that I didn't have to be full blooded Scottish, or Scottish at all for that matter.........then he goes back into his begging again.
I wore it last night to the Holy Thursday Mass, and I will wear it again tonight for the Good Friday Mass and again saturday night, and Easter Sunday.

Why would you let more then one person wear your kilt?!?!?!
To the OP, I am sorry that you had to endure something such as this. I used to be involved with my local parish, and I miss being a part of it greatly. The problem is that too many individuals have too much time to get involved with too many situations that are not any of their business. It seems that you are handling as best you can which is great to see.
Good luck to you ...

That's a shame that someone would make it sound like there is more then one person in the church and that they are calling you a cross-dresser because you wear a kilt.
In the part of IL that I'm from wearing a kilt is something that very few people do. So almost creeps people out. One of my friends actually would not let me in their house because I had a kilt on. Some other people I know were calling it a skirt. I wanted to punch them... Also one of the church's I go to most of the people have some Scottish background so they are fine with me wearing a kilt.

Sounds like cutting to the chase might be needed. Arga, this is how I dress and there is nothing wrong with it. I hope my friend would respect that.

Hmmm.
At the risk of appearing unfeeling towards him, even if it wasn't Arga that was wagging his tongue initially, if he's begging you not to wear your kilt, and he knows fine that's what you want/choose to do...he's maybe not that much of a friend.
Enjoy every sandwich.
