So our budget was very very low for wedding standards.
It came to the point when we needed to pick the piper... hmm.
It also was the same time we needed to pick the scotch... hmm.
As it turned out we had enough for one or the other.
Now I am a piper and I love the pipes, especially a good piobaireachd.
Most in my family are not pipers and though they enjoy a piob here and there and enjoy my playing, they would not really miss the piper.
So we decided to go with the scotch.
So Glenmorangie 10y, MacCallum 12y, Balvenie 12y dw, Laphroaig 10y, and Dalwhinnie 15y made the cut. They were part of my thank you to folks as I went around to everyone thanking them personally for coming and celebrating with us. For some it was their first taste of this kind of spirit for some it was a polite refusal of the Laphroaig but patiently waiting for the return of the Glenmorangie or the Balvenie... the Dalwhinnie was a later offer, well after dinner.
It was a tough choice but came down to hospitality. For those who did not drink I had some very delicious Italian Soda.
Not much left... but the Dalwinnie and the Laphroaig... benefits of the late entrances maybe.
peace,
justin

Congrats. Given that you mentioned the thrifty aspects of your wedding it looks to me as if you had a far better time than many people who waste a fortune on the 'perfect' wedding which they don't really enjoy.
Excellent photos - your bride is far better looking than you!
The 'Eathen in his idleness bows down to wood and stone,
'E don't obey no orders unless they is his own,
He keeps his side arms awful,
And he leaves them all about,
Until up comes the Regiment and kicks the 'Eathen out.
