Strathmore stocks this in their T7 weight (11 oz), so anyone who carries Strathmore tartans can get this for you (for instance, the STM!)
That means you can get ties, scarves, etc, lady's skirts, or a light weight men's kilt.
If you prefer a heavy weight kilt (as I do), it would require a custom weave. (Which, of course, we are also happy to do).

I wear the New York City tartan. It was my first, and its existence let me feel "entitled" to wear a kilt.
My avatar pic shows something of me wearing it.

That's a great tartan, AK. And I like the shirt choice.
I love the Kentucky Tartan and the New Mexico tartans - the two I would consider getting.

The Arizona State tartan has been on top of my wish list for years. I've held out hope that somewhere there's cloth already woven so I don't have to have it special woven like Craig did. Emails to Dr. Smith seem to go unanswered - but he's older than I am now. My kiltmaker has been unsuccessful. One of the pipe bands in Phoenix wears it I believe...so am still hopeful I'll find yardage somewhere. Optimistic eh?
And here's a pic of Craig in the tartan at the 2007 games in Mesa, AZ....with green kilt hose....

Someday I might get a kilt in the California State tartan in either 13 or 16 oz PV. I have a friend who got one from SK. It seems awfully light weight.

I am afraid Ohio's state tartan (not officially recognized by the state yet...) is hideous.

I don't have it yet. But I plan on getting a kilt made in the Louisiana tartan.

The tartan is on its way! Then I'm sending it off to Matt Newsome!

I'd be really interested in a New York State tartan... if one existed!
Still waiting for a talented tartan designer* to remedy the situation...
* I'm not...!

From one Brian to another, and as a fellow New Yorker, I've thought about designing one myself. I've designed a lot of tartans with the Scotweb tartan designer but as yet haven't done anything about a state tartan. Of course, for all I know, I could already have designed one that would work.
The biggest difficulty, I think, would be getting someone in Albany to be interested enough in a state tartan to push some legislation through approving a design and then getting the Governor to sign it. I could design a New York tartan (any ideas, Brian?) but it means nothing if it doesn't have official sanction.
Regards,
Brian
