I used to hunt boar when I was a boy in Malvern, Arkansas...until I got chased up a tree by one.

Sorry, I couldn't help that McClef...you are correct to remind us.
Don't you trust us?
A reminder in search of a problem. There's been no "downhill" discussion in evidence. Duly stifled....

It's not a matter of trust nor desire to stifle discussion but it's part of a Moderator's job to sometimes give timely reminders of the rules - this is best done before a "downhill" as inevitably happens otherwise time and again with weapons as rule #11 says.
"Don't mention the war" is a non-sequitur. (Visions of folk dashing for their Latin phrase books.)

Our Mods have a tough, unenviable job, and do (much-appreciated!) yeoman service in keeping this great forum on track. That being said, consideration of an old saying might be in order when scrutinizing any particular thread: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
(I know I'm out of line, so apologies for feeling compelled to make that final point!)

Tough squirrel, tough rabbit, old deer, etc. Flour it and brown it in bacon grease and then put it in a crockpot for a long, slow cooking. It'll melt in your mouth.

Maybe we could use a "code" word in place of the other words that are not allowed on this board. Something cute and cuddly to replace the cold hard devices that are taboo. How about substituting the words "teddy bead" instead. Example: "I bagged a nice moose with the use of my great grandfathers antique teddy bear." OR "The world would be a much nicer place without teddy bears of mass destruction." ... Just a thought.
