My "Celtic" trio (between the three of us fiddle, accordion, guitar, whistles, uilleann pipes, Scottish smallpipes, and bodhran) is playing around noon at a restaurant. We wear slacks and tweed vests.
At night I'll be playing at the same house party I've done for around ten years. How I dress for that depends on what I'm doing beforehand: if coming from a Highland piping gig I'll be in kilts, if coming from an uilleann gig in slacks.
So far only the two gigs but St Patrick's Day is odd around here and I often get panicky last-minute calls from people.
Been doing piping gigs on St Pat's for over 30 years and some years I have six or seven gigs lined up and some years just a couple.
Some years it's Highland pipes and kilts all day, some years uilleann pipes and trousers all day, some years it's a mix.

An Evening Out
I'll be wearing my SWK Irish Nat'l to work and then herself and I will be going to Brian Boru Irish Pub / Restaurant in Severna Park, MD for a nice supper then home. I have Clan Meow (my eight cats) to feed and take care of before I can call it a night. A word of caution, a friend of mine who is a MD Trooper informed me that MSP WILL be out in force and will be checking out drivers at check points. Enjoy the day, but, don't over do it.
Cheers to all, ![Toast](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/toast.gif) int::soda:

Well, folks, it's just a matter of minutes before we leave for our St. Patrick's Day kilt night in Colorado Springs. Tonight, McCabe's. Tomorrow, in the parade with the Elizabeth Celtic Festival. Lunch time... I forget where... with the Renaissance Scots Living History Association. Pics to come on Sunday!

I'll be working on the 17th, so a quiet night with corned beef and cabbage at home, washed down with a Guinness or two.
On the 18th, however, my town is having its first-ever SPD parade and I have been recruited to be the announcer. I'll wear my Irish National kilt, probably with my Aran sweater and maybe with my green felt fedora.

I was stood outside a pub near Ebbw Vale yesterday having a smoke in my Cornwall National kilt when a chap came up to me and said:
"Do you think you'll win tomorrow?"
I thought it might be something to do with the Six Nations rugby so I replied:
"You never know, especially as Wales is at home."
He looked puzzled and said:
"But you are Irish aren't you?"
And seemed surprised when I informed him that this was not the case!
