Seriously, if you enter the driver's side, stepping up left-foot first, I don't care how tall the door sill is. The pleats will have you completely covered from behind. Unless the apron just slides up (down) your left thigh to crotch level, I don't anticipate a problem on the step up. I just simulated a 25-inch door sill in a 4 yard X-kilt, and I don't think I could expose myself unless the wind just took a hand at that precise moment---I guess that's always possible.
As you turn and bend to sit, there may be a little danger. Take every advantage of the door, and let your left leg be between you and your potential audience to your left.
The towel is a great technique, if you ever need to sit and then turn to face forward. If it helps to wrap the towel before stepping up, then go for it!
Now try it in my wife's Z-3, where your bum is about 8.3 cm from the tarmac. That car door is my friend, let me tell you; but the pleats do most of the work.

I have a van and getting in is never an issue being high off the ground. The problem is with the little micro cars. If your butt is going to end up below your knees you have potential problem. I saw a good example of that a few years ago. I was attending the Kentucky Scottish Weekend. There was a Mini Cooper dealer at the event with two new cars on display. People were getting into the cars to try them out. Of course many of the guys had on kilts. I noticed two young ladies (mid 30's) standing by the driver's door. They were whispering back and forth with each other. I wondered what they were doing so I walked up behind them. Naughty girls! They were watching the guys in kilts get into the car. Now us gentlemen would have never have done that if the situation was reversed ;)

No. No...of course we wouldn't.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

If we were gentlemen, we would not do so, but sometimes we are not gentlemen.

Let us know how it goes!
"It's all the same to me, war or peace,
I'm killed in the war or hung during peace."

Recently faced with spring loaded seats. I stood slightly in front of seat. As bending over, spread legs slightly and push sporran between legs and pinch. Push seat down with back of hands, and sweep pleats with hands as sitting down...by end of evening, could accomplish smoothly.

I'll bet! To be honest, if someone is wantes to get a look that bad...so be it. Although modesty is part of my concern, I'm more interested in keeping my pleats flat than some interested onlooker getting the answer to their desired question.
