This topic is precisely why my cleanliness compulsive Wife is reluctant to host a kilt night and Scotch tasting at our home. Considering how politically correct it might be to pass out "chux" on arrival to protect newish furniture. ;)

Some people, you dress him up in a nice kilt and he still doesn't clean up well.
"The Highland dress is essentially a 'free' dress, -- that is to say, a man's taste and circumstances must alone be permitted to decide when and where and how he should wear it... I presume to dictate to no man what he shall eat or drink or wherewithal he shall be clothed." -- The Hon. Stuart Ruaidri Erskine, The Kilt & How to Wear It, 1901.

Well, I would presume that the "accident" in question was caused by the aforementioned drunkenness rather than going regimental. Most people, men and women, wearing unbifurcated garments make sure the garment is between them and what they're sitting on in most circumstances. I would assume that at a scotch tasting (rather than a bottle emptying contest) your guests would retain their composure and self control and not sit bare a***d on your furniture.
As an alternative, if you are close to the friends you would invite, a discreet explanation of your wife's compulsion and a request to wear underclothes might be in order. If you told your wife of this request it might mollify her and it's highly unlikely she would ever know if your guests had complied or not.

Wile wearing underwear would help. What about washing your b-hole or wipe until there is no poo on your rear after using the toilette! Good lord.
Let YOUR utterance be always with graciousness, seasoned with salt, so as to know how you ought to give an answer to each one.

Moth warning to regimentalists.
On another not un-related subject, those here who dread the attack of the clothes moth, devastating their “kilt kollection” it is well known that bodily secretions, of whatever kind, act as attractants for this little pest. Those committed “regimentalists” who have failed in their moth precautions will find that the attacks tend to be concentrated in those areas which have been in closest contact with protruding parts of the wearer’s anatomy. The message is simple – if you must go regimental, clean after every outing and invest in effective moth-killer systems.
“Never put clothes away dirty. Sweat, hair oil and food stains (not to mention other similar substances) attract moths and make it much more likely that your clothes will be attacked. If you're storing clothes for a season, clean them and put them away in plastic storage bags.” - http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/Homes_an...hs-100224.html
