Re: New management
Absolutely hysterical... I'm still laughing.
But wait... maybe this really could work out - then we wouldn't have to pay those outrageous tariffs for tartan goods imported from Scotland!

Re: New management
11. You will cease playing American football. There are only two kinds of
proper football; one you call soccer, and rugby (dominated by the New
Zealanders). Those of you brave enough will, in time, be allowed to play rugby
(which has some similarities to American football, but does not involve
stopping for a rest every twenty seconds or wearing full kevlar body armour
like a bunch of nancies).
Being Canadian, and also growing up with CFL, I have common ground with the Americans on this one... But I have a great idea for a compromise.
We'll do away with American-style football as soon as the Brits do away with cricket! Deal?

I do say Jim, that would be rather a sticky wicket to do away with cricket, old boy. What would us chaps in the Antipodes do during the summer?

Surf, learn to play the didgeridoo, or paint like rolf harris? Depending on where you are in the country...

Surfed for 35 years, it is offensive to many indigenous Australians to play the didgeridoo if you are not of their culture, and Rolf Harris has done it better than I ever could. Also played baseball for 15 years. during our winter, but that was to help keep the eye in for cricket.
Nothing better than to sit in the "Members" at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Boxing Day, to watch the start of an Ashes Test

This is an oldie but a goodie! I've seen this posted so many times.
And it's the strawberries that have to be in season, not the cream!

Didn't The Who write a song about that...?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Re: New management
Lest it be overlooked, Your Majesty, when one aquires a property, one also aquires the debts and leins incured against the property. As such you now owe 700 trillion (American) dollars in assorted debts not including previously agreed upon aid supplies to other countries. There is also the (not insignificant) matter of debt and upkeep for the individual states. We shall send our (too many) millions of lawyers and accountants for a meeting on this issue whenever is conveinient for you and begin to sort out the details.
Yours,
The Colonies et. al.
