    Not often, only one at a time and NEVER with evening dress. I might wear a regimental or vet badge, but as with Jock the tie usually says it all.

    That really was a good photo, Jock, and now we all know why. HQ issed it and gave orders for its general dissemination.

    I was mostly impressed by the table on your right and to the rear. I had begun to suspect that I was the only person storing whisky in decanters, but cut glass bottles behind you give me pause. Not to mention making me thirsty.

    Jock, when I was shopping online for the ABF tie, I saw the HfH tie and had to buy it, too.

    Well done JD and thank you for your support for two wonderful charities. The H f H tie was the other choice for that "Matchy Matchy" thread that was about a while ago, but I thought that would be a step too far for you cautious colonials! I find that those colours fit in perfectly with Highland attire and indeed the tie says it all to those that know.

    Believe it or not, that tie would probably be well received here in the 'colonies'. They're our national colours too, ya know! Most folks would probably figure it's a patriotic tie of some sort, unless they knew what it really represented (which I find very unlikely).

    As for lapel pins, I have never worn one, unless you count pins on a denim jacket that I wore in the 1980s. And quite frankly, the ubiquitous flag pin on politicians' lapels (including the recent flaps in the media over whether not wearing one makes a person anti-American) has really turned me off from the idea. Lapel pins have the potential to be a nicely understated decoration, but when they turn into political statements or become expected as part of an unofficial uniform, it has gone too far.

    Really? Red, dark blue,light blue?

    Just so you know.

    Red= Army
    Dark blue= Royal Navy/Royal Marines.
    Light blue= Royal Air Force.

    Sorry, I thought it was white, not light blue. I saw it against your blue shirt, and it looks like red/white/blue to me. No doubt that's how it would look to most Americans too, upon first glance.
