Welcome from Ontario, Canada by way of Crawley, West Sussex. As a kiltwear with no Scottish blood, don't sweat it. Wear what you want, clan tartan or no. You'll not offend anyone here. If it's still important to you Government Sett (Black Watch) is also availiable to you as is Gordon for you Jewish heritage. There is also Gorgeous colour is Maple Leaf... You've heard of Canada? Go ahead and wear that with pride too.

Re: Newby from Southern England
All,
Thanks for the welcomes, it's nice to feel wanted.
Thank you, Mr Rubber Chicken Abuser, for the information regarding the Gordon sett, I was unaware of this. Canada, yes I went there once, Toronto for a weeks conference - the inside of one hotel looks much like another - although I did go to the CN Tower and that place where the water drips over the edge of a rock into a puddle.
Regards,
Ian

Re: Newby from Southern England
Welcome Ian. Greetings from Northern Ireland.
Gordon is a great choice (I am totally biased and have three Gordon kilts).

John

Re: Newby from Southern England
Ian, a belated welcome to you from a little further to the east from Eastleigh - Storrington in West Sussex.
I am impressed that you have 10 kilts already (albeit in PV; but that's nothing at all to worry about). You are well on the way to catching up with my 102! Not that you need encouragement, it seems but, although I live here in the south of the United Kingdom, I have not worn t******s for over 12½ years, nor do I own any.
Oh, and I know of another almost full-time kiltie who lives near Ringwood, but he's not a member here at XMTS.
Take care,
Ham.
