Belhaven Scottish Stout if you can find it. It's my favorite non-Imperial stout. For Imperial stouts, Old Rasputin is another favorite, from North Coast Brewery. Samuel Smith's Imperial Russian Stout is good but I don't care for the hop they use, it's kinda "tinny".
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

I am not aware of any change in the illegality of home distillation in the US.

Hey...where are you finding Bellhaven Scottish Ale for home consumption? I was under the impression that it was only available on tap...one of the nice things about The Duke Of Perth: BSA on tap.
I'd also like to rant about the three schmucks who have, in the past month, given me an unsolicited lecture on how "little" alcohol Guinness has in it. So OBVIOUSLY they're drinking something with a higher alcohol percentage so they MUST be cooler. Like I've always said, I'm a long-distance drinker not a sprinter.

In New Mexico Bellhaven is available in tall cans (14.9 oz) and 12 oz. bottles. I've never seen it on tap, but it may be and I just don't know. It is very expensive though - about $3 a bottle, so I drink it sparingly.
I can get a case of PBR, when it is on sale, for $11 and save my money for ammunition for my M1.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Yeah, Belhaven is in all the grocery stores around here, either in cans (yuck) or small/large bottles. Even the liquor store in my tiny po-dunk town has it. Haven't seen their stout around, though.

Eight years of combat service and I never cried--but then I read this article. Some things are too much for a man to take!
Breathe--at least I'm a home brewer with a Belgian Dubbel and a Cream Stout (both btw 7-9% ABV) newly bottled.
