Excluding places where you would expect a kilt, certainly less than 5 times a year. Kilts just aren't the normal wear around here.

Jeff, I must need to get out more. With the exclusions listed, I don't see any kilties around town.
Excluding pipe band performances, the only time I see kilts on others in this area are at the St Pat's parade and the regional Highland Games.

Usually, I am the only one in sight (except for the occasional kilt night). That would make it less than a dozen times a year.....
EPITAPH: Decades from now, no one will know what my bank balance looked like, it won't matter to anyone what kind of car I drove, nor will anyone care what sort of house I lived in. Somwhere between 25-50. There is an old gent who frequents one of the local shopping areas that I do and he is always wearing a kilt. Also, whenever I visit a mate who resides up in the country, we always have our kilts on.

With those exclusions, 0-5. Pretty much never around these parts; I don't think I've ever noticed anyone wearing a kilt (trad or otherwise) "in the wild". I had one auspicious sighting this year: I attended an installation of officers at a Masonic lodge, and nearly all of the incoming officers were wearing highland dress. (The incoming Master was a Gordon.) That event was what reawakened my dormant kilt jones, and led to me finding this place and going down the kiltmaking rabbit hole.
