Re: Do you feel safe?
Yes, I feel safe....the majority of the forum members keep all discussions civil and when it goes off the tracks it gets straightened out by both the membership and the mods.
We often agree to disagree but it's all about the kilt in whatever form the individual might wear it...all kilties are included here.

Re: Do you feel safe?
I'm going on an assumption here (which rarely results in anything good) but I'm guessing now that this has a lot to do with Jock's latest poll, of which far too many people took far too much offense to, for too many wrong reasons.
Just looking for clarification here.
And Scot, that's no way to through life son.....

The time has come for someone to put his foot down, Mickey. And that foot is me.

Re: Do you feel safe?
To the OP,
It is said... "Better to light a candle than curse the dark"
People are far from perfect, you can either choose to focus on the shadows cast by the few, or the rays of light by the many
It is your choice
There have been many posts over the years on this forum that have spoken of "changes" and "turns for the worse".
As for me, I'd much rather admire and be with the ones who radiate the light
Cheers

Re: Do you feel safe?
Cowher, I've had my dark days on the forum, too, and I realize it annoyed many people as I posted about it. In what ever way you find your peace, I wish you luck.
I would guess some of the Crabits have parallel feelings to you about the discussions here, from an opposite or different perspective. I don't think I should ask someone to try to understand my point of view without first trying very hard to understand their point of view.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

back on topic: I dont follow every thread here and I tend to stay away from the "fashion" ones (so sorry, men), but thats because I know nothing about kilted mens style do's and don'ts. Maybe thats where the drama is going on?

I would say on the subject of tone, that cultural differences come into play too...
I know that some people are only now (5 years later) starting to understand the subtleties of british humour...

Cowher wrote at Post #13:-
.......I have been sipping on my scotch tonight .
That explains how this thread came to be started.
No criticism of you, Cowher, on my part, I've been there and done that before I quit the drink, I can identify with this. It is too easy to become a wee bit irrational after sipping the Scotch and to post stuff on the internet, which, if sober, we would have read over again after typing and then decided against hitting the Post button.
Yes, some of the recent posts have been quite strongly opinionated but people will always have their own personal views, whether as to how to wear the kilt, or any other subject, but nobody has said anything which would make me feel unsafe.
I have upset a few people on here with my opinions over the years but I can't say that I feel unsafe in any way.
