Couldn't be better said. He got the info for ut kilts. Who knows maybe he could be the next in a kilt. I was glad he asked.

The temptation for him to finally see one up close was just too much and hence the stop. It is good to see that it ended on amicable terms.

Yes he may have been interested in the kilt, and he was wrong to stop him for that. The problem lies with ppl that refuse to take a stand. Here is a misquote of what I mean: A person who will give up their rights for security, desever niether rights nor security

I feel like I should clarify my earlier post. I understand why I get pulled over once in a while on my bike. I know it's not normal to see someone hooning around on a sportsbike at 330 a.m. I would want to know what I was doing too. I just wish they'd be up front about it when they pull me over.

Hey, I'm a right-wing, limited government type guy myself, but you have to choose your battles. Again, I'd give this kilt-bedazzled officer a pass in this case....

What about when they light up good drivers, stop them, and give them a reward for good driving - lots of towns do that from time to time.
I haven't had to worry about law enforcement since I quit boozin'. Want some excitement - get pulled over by a Navajo police officer deep on the reservation when kilted. I've told that story already.
Wednesday was in a collision kilted (not my fault - other guy got the ticket) and the entire two hours the Utah Highway Patrolman never mentioned the kilt - even though the wind had it dancing most of the time.
Law enforcement types are just people and come in the same range of human beings as the rest of us. Even did that work myself back when.
I woulda welcomed the chat and told him about the Law Enforcement Memorial tartan.
A few years ago got pulled over by Arizona DPS and he saw from my stickers that I was a sober member of AA. Turned out he was too and we chatted about sobriety for a half an hour and I lucked out and only got a warning.
I've found most cops are good folk at heart and they root out the bad seeds among them.
