I will gladly send my original MK to someone willing to copy and perhaps reverse the apron. As long as I get mine back and a discount on the result, o' course. I've made this offer before other places. Never got a reply.

Always looking to expand my repertoir of kilt making options I'd be glad to make one up for you for material cost plus a reasonable fee to cover time and shipping. I've refined my skills enough to consider myself a good kilter and think I could do this justice for a reasonable cost and give more color options. PM me and we can see what we can work out. Just test it out and let us all know how it performs. O'Neille Kilts is willing to take on special projects if anyone has ideas. O'Neille

Well, welcome to the forum. Enjoy the posts. There is so much good advice and chat about kilts on this list. There are "experts" (truly) on just about every facet of kilts, history, making, and wearing. Occasional kilt wearers, every-day wearers . . . have fun!

First time out...
So, I wore the Mountain Kilt out of the house for the first time today. I went hiking in the beautiful San Bernardino mountains to give it a trial run, and I must say that it passed with flying colors. This is perhaps the most comfortable day of hiking I've ever had, even in the blazing desert heat of southern CA! (It's nice to have the extra bit of built-in air conditioning ).
Here's a pic of me sporting it on the trail:
I have to say that today I was pretty self-conscious about my comfortable, but non-mainstream fashion choice. I didn't run into anybody on the trails, but I did have to stop and get gas at a station that's right on Colorado Blvd (a busy road here in Pasadena). I know a couple of people noticed, but didn't say anything. This is a good test of one's ability to be able to make and be comfortable with choices that others might not understand. One of those character-building experiences - liberating in so many ways .
Thanks, again, for the all the welcomes I've gotten.
Happy kilting!

i have a mountian kilt from mountian hardware, it is my swimming kilt. i love how fast it dries and how light it is. it is great for relaxing in after a swim. i also like the modesty snap, keeps the hem from floating! my wife says the back is a little transparent when wet. i have never looked. kilt on!

My Mountain Kilt.
I just got a Mountain kilt, after having received my Olive Amerikilt. I must say that there is no comparison. The Amerikilt is a regular kilt, except not being Tartan and no buckles. The MK is almost like a skirt with buckles. I will try it next summer hiking but the AK is my choice, by far, for wandering around in malls and all.
