I think David (Great name by-the-way)
That for casual I'd aim for a lightweight boot and hiking sock (Like you can see in Grahams gallery).
At work when you need to be a little smarter try a thinner longer sock sock Try the Bridgedale make .I buy loads when I'm home in the UK they have them in Coolmax, which breathes really well, also they have all different types and colours .
All the best David from David (Freelander)

I bought some "soccer socks" from our sports store, they were green with white around the foot part, they assured me that the white part of the sock would not show above the shoe or boot - but it did and looks bad, so, waste of money.

The rugby socks I sell have that white part but it sits well under the ankle. Much lower than the soccer socks I bought a while ago, which are good enough for hiking boots but not lower shoes.

I've posted a piccie in my gallery to show the 'sock problem' - not that it's a major issue

I never understood why a sock manufacturer would change the thread color like that. Doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't it be cheaper for them to use one color throughout?? I finally found a sporting goods store that sells solid color soccer socks for $6.00 /pair. I bought the last 2 pair they had. Unfortunately, they only come in black. Better that than white.

I get solid color soccor socks from a sporting goods shop here 3 pair for $10. They do the job nicely. They only have the 3 packs in navy and white though.
