The other kind of club I've not been to in thirty years. In fact I only rarely go to a pub. However, soon smoking will be banned in pubs in Tasmania (like they've done in Ireland) and then I shall be more inclined to visit a pub.
I'm the same way, Graham. Within a few years Calgary will have a total smoking-in-public ban in effect, so I may finally be able to enjoy myself in pubs and bars. I get very intense headaches from too much cigarette smoke.

Aaaaagh happy days, now wrap me up in a nice warm blanket and wake me up when it's safe...

Rhino, lets have a look at this picture of you and the old FZ on the rear rubber. Got to love a Brother on the rear wheel! And as for a proper bike, you know that the Vmax is one in a class of its own, and it's right proprer!

I always wanted to test ride a V-Max. The fact that it's not a lay-down sport bike interests me. "Standard" bikes and cruisers are my style, and the V-Max looks like it would fit the bill. However...I doubt that I'd be able to keep my drivers license clean for very long if I had one! My Vulcan keeps me from getting into "too" much trouble. LOL
One of these days I'd like to ride my bike out to Vancouver and the Island. Maybe if I timed it for one of the infamous Kilt Nights out there...

Hamish you're on, after the Manchester do and my commitments we'll set up a kilt night and finish in a club or two. I did suggest it before the Stoke night out. Maybe a High Peak event, and just get folk I know to put people up.
And as for a guy your age' I regularly see 50+ folk shaking booty out there and you don't look a day over 50, what are you on, monkey gland? I'm already looking forward to it.
Andrew I'll try to scan the pic, but in the vane of all big mouths it's c**p, all you'll see is a small 'thing' in the middle of the pic that might or might not be a bike. It means nothing to anyone except me, and thats only 'cos I know what it is and whats happening. The same day I clocked about 158mph down the straight 8) .
Having said that I still think it's harder to lift a VMax, they're so heavy.
Cheers Rhino

I have already pencilled a note of it in my diary, Rhino!!
Things seem to have gone a little quiet on the Manchester Event front, and my concern is that if we don't soon get something concrete to work to, it will be mighty difficult to get accommodation booked. Still, no doubt, our good friend Lance is working on that as I write. I am also planning my annual visit to Edinburgh for the end of September, so it looks like being a very busy month!
Monkey glands? No, not for me. I attribute my youthful attitude (and extreme good looks ) to nothing more than a healthy zest for life and to not letting anything get to me - and to not taking risks!

Vancouver has been non smoking for over 2 years now. Even as a smoker (ex-smoker now) I did not mind that I had to go outside to smoke. Now as an ex-smoker, the transition was so much easier not having to deal with it at the pub. Ireland's change over is fairly recent, and it will be interesting to see what happens there.
