Hello, my name is Chris and I live in NC. I have owned and worn kilts for a few years now. I realize that there are many that would not approve of the way I wear my more casual kilts, but I am interested in learning more about "proper" kilt wear. I usually wear utility style kilts the same way I wear jeans or shorts. I keep finding my self back on this site reading posts and decided to join today. Also today is the first time I wore a kilt to work. I did bring a backup kilt because it took me about 20 minutes to pleat this one this morning and if I have to take it off there is no way I would be able to put it back on at work. Today I wanted to dress up a little so I went with a green button up shirt and a green cardigan sweater along with the nicest dress shoes I own. I normally wear jeans and t-shirt/hoody to work, so this is very dressed up for me. My backup kilt is a black utility style. So far the response has been good, I hope to make this a regular occurrence. My wife and I have enjoyed the few Highland Games we have attended and we want to introduce our 3 yr old son to these events. (we found diapers to be challenging at outdoor festivals so we stayed away for a bit, our choice please don't judge.). He seems to be ok with wearing a kilt, we got him a nice Black Watch a few weeks ago. This has gotten long so I will leave it at this, I am here to learn and grow for myself and my family.
