Just to go back a little to the reactions of various people, I agree with Ham about the British, in London this weekend all the comments I recieved were from Americans, one woman even following us trying to get a picture of her hand up my kilt . No she didn't ask just stalked us for ten minutes
One American lady loved it and told Sarah I was an 'alpha male', I'd gone to get the drinks at the time, like a hen pecked husband She was very curious about the 'tartan' which I told her was McCammo and then had to explain for 15 minutes it wasn't a real tartan, she still went away thinking it was something to do with the military. I gave her a card in case she has any males she wants in a kilt.
No comment at all from the Brits apart from one cockney who said 'why you wearin a dress' so thanks to the someone on this forum who had the same question, as I used their reply. 'Don't be so ignorant it's a skirt' that took the wind out of his sails.
Hamish I'm sure also commented on the fact that either he no longer gets a response or doesn't notice them. I think he probably no longer notices them, as when Sarah her friend Charlie and I were walking along the river and they were discussing the reactions they see, both agreeing they like the dumb struck look best with the double take coming a close second. I was oblivious to all the confusion I was leaving in my wake.
I also get more comments when I'm with someone else as I think I look more approachable, less intimidating when I'm with others, as I've said before my normal face is like a blistered p!$$ pot.
Just a few thoughts
Cheers Rhino
