Hello all, let me please introduce myself, I am Gerond Davidson from Manitoba. I am a fifth generation farmer on the same ground my Great-great grandfather Robert Alexander Davidson settled in 1878. I raise Black Angus cattle and a few goats. My family is Scottish on my dads side and a mix of British on my mother's side. From my Great-great-great grandma Christie Ann (Cameron) Davidson we are descended from the chiefs of Clan Cameron. Sir Ewan Cameron of Locheil was my 8th great grandfather and from that line are many connections to various clans. After the '45 my 6th great grandparents John and Mary Cameron ended up in Mohawk Valley New York. During the American rebellion the Camerons joined the King's Royal Regiment of New York and took up cause with the loyalists. Then they came to Canada. On my mother's side my Great -grandfather and two of his brothers were in the Queen's Own Cameron Highladers of Canada during World War 2. And my Great-great grandfather was in the Scottish Horse regiment for the Boer War. I wear my Davidson kilt proudly any chance I get. I have one that I wore to my graduation and wedding.and its still my go to kilt for formal occasions. I also have a military kilt in the Davidson tartan from the 48th Highlanders. And a 'rescue' kilt in the Davidson that I got on the cheap. (It has been hemmed and hacked at a bit, it had a leather belt sown on for extesion, but I think I can restore it.) I plan on wearing it around the farm.
