    study of eccentricity

While browsing in a book store I came across an intriguing book, Eccentrics "A Study of Sanity and Strangeness," by David Weeks and Jamie James.

The authors discovered that almost all eccentrics are:

    1. Noncomforming (by definition!)

    2. Creative

    3. Strongly motivated by curiosity

    4. Idealistic. Wants to make the world a better place.

    5. Happily obsessed with one or more hobbyhorses (usually five or six).

    Eccentrics also tend to be:

    6. Intelligent

    7. Outspoken, convinced that they are right

    8. Possessed of a mischievious sense of humor

The authors also wrote that eccentrics tend to be happier and possess better mental health than the rest of the population.

I was told I am not an "Eccentrics" because I am not rich enough...

I like Bubba's comment-- friends make us rich.

I am glad to be amoung and one of the "Ecentric Kilted Knights with Sharp Pleats and Armored Sporranns"

Welcome to the forum Tim, you've come in with a bang here, thanks for that definition, I think I fit in there.

I saw a program on Leonardo Da Vinci the other night, I think he would fit the bill too, and apart from questionable morality, he sounded a truly amazing man.
