Its the kilt hose that look weird worn with Hawaiian shirts and a solid color kilt...except black...a black, white, and red floral print Hawaiian shirt goes with a black kilt, black kilt sox, and black shoes...maybe with red or white flashes...

Best with Teva sandals though and no kilt sox....

I'm breathing, Ron. I AM breathing...... just give me a moment or two and I'll be alright...

There! That's better. Well, there are plain kilts and plain kilts. Hawaiian shirts are absolutely fine - in Hawaii - I imagine (I've never been there), and I guess they're OK if worn on a hot, tropical beach somewhere else. I imagine, too, that they will 'work' with a plain Utilikilt (or similar), and with sandals, but no socks. However, I think they'd be a bit much with, say, a plain "TFCK" kilt - it's probably a matter of a complimentary fabric rather than the style of the kilt itself here.

Tartan shirts with plain "TFCK"s and Hawaiian shirts with plain "UK"s, that's about right. No socks/hose or shoes/boots with the Hawaiian shirts though, PLEASE! And, the kilts MUST be plain, or everyone you meet with immediately develop a migraine or worse, throw up!

I went to the library today kilted. The weirdist part had to be that I was returning two books on clans and tartans and the book "braveheart" (the movie's novel) so it probably looked kind of cliche' if I do say so. and i came out of the library with "rob roy" the book. i bet they thought it was a fad.

Librarians are a fairly opened-minded bunch in general, and trust me: working in a public library, you see many different types of people. When I wore my kilt to work at the public library, I never got any negative comments, only questions about the genealogy department (where I worked).

    Cheers,

    T.
