Hi Magnus,
When I wrote of "two weeks" it was purely as a result of Bear's statement:
"We're planning for the first two weeks in August with a Kilts Night on August 6th. Maybe another on the 13th."
I have to admit that I was wondering if some grand Celtic Festival, lasting two weeks, is being planned around the 6th August 'Kilts Night', when I read what Bear had to say.
Of course, I am retired so I get 365 days paid holiday in an average year(!!!) - OK, so I've paid for it all my working life - but, I believe the norm, under European law nowadays, for those still in employment, is something like 21 working days per year. I could be well out of touch though!

Our week long Celtic festival is actually in March Hamish. I think by saying 2 weeks, that Bear is still trying to nail down some specific dates. Too bad we couldn't do it in March for the festival that centers St. Patrick's day.

I just realized that if all the stars and planets and moons line up right that I may be able to make two Vancouver kilt nights in a row!
My 2005 vacation is the first two weeks of July, and there's a very good possibility that my wife and I will make a motorcycle trip out to Vancouver Island at that time. We'd be in Vancouver for the July night. Woohoo! I'd just have to figure out how to pack everything. LOL
If I can afford it I still hope to fly out for the August night as well. I think that would be the best time...all the kilted world travellers gathered on Granville Street!

I am appointing myself to be the Logistic Cordinator for the August 2005 Gathering. I will be calling a few hotels next week to see whether we can get a group discount. It would be cool If We can book the whole floor of the hotel. Please let know whether you will be bringing your family and/or family pet. and more importantly, how much do u guys want to spend. There are also options in staying at various Bed and Breakfast in the city.
