Robert grabbed his pipes and said let’s go! We have a special treat for you. We all climb into the car. Off we went.




We passed some of Robert’s favorite spots.






Robert again showed me his skill in Alpine passing on the narrow roads.

The Tour de France had passed this way and this mark tells the riders there is 9 kilometers to the stage end and mountain top.

He headed to the crest of the mountain. Robert had his pipes in hand.








Robert began to serenade with his pipes!

Not only did we enjoy the Robert’s performance, but as the pipes music filled the mountain pass to be heard by all who were there.

Afterwards we went to the restaurant for a bit of refreshment. On our earlier hike Robert, had pointed out a ‘weed’ that looked similar to ones I have at home. I wish I had taken a photo of it. Robert told me that this weed is used to make a marvelous aperitif called 'gentiane'. The drink is called 'suze', like the glass says. I can attest it is quite refreshing!






I took this photo of a weed at home that iooks very similar to the one Robert showed me.



Robert tells me he weed I photographed bears the latin (scientific name ) Plantago Major.
