Trela, that is definitely a fine looking group--except for the guy in ladies' attire (pants).

Alas, No kilt for son-in-law to wear!

Alas, He didn't have his tartan for me to make him one and as we were short on time before going to Scotland last July (08), I had no time to order him a kilt nor time to make one for him! He did not want to wear (the MacIntyre) tartan! He did oblige us females by matching our colors though!

Smiling, Barefoot Ladies (from Florida, of course!) In Taynuilt, Scotland.
I wanted younger daughter to wear leggings under because those winds in Scotland are fierce!!
We all wore some under (except Gma)!

Be Kind...
Also, please remember that I'm new to the whole kilt and tartan thing, and that this skirt was made by J.crew who most likely knows less than I do about kilts and tartans and tartan skirts.

Ali,
I think that the skirt, the top, and the lady wearing them look lovely. :-)
I don't think the boots are doing it for me, though. I don't think it's you or the outfit. I just don't think I like that style boot.
I think the skirt and shirt with a nice pair of black Mary Janes or some similar style of shoe would look great, though.
And that really is a cute top.

way better than college girls foraging for coffee. Husband's remarks were out of line!

Alright MacInyre ladies!
Ali, I happen to like the entire outfit, including the boots. But, in 6 months will they still be in fashion?

Thank you I understand about the boots, not everyone's cup of tea ;) but man, are they warm and comfy!

Thanks-- who knows? They are going on 2 years now for this particular style and about 4 years for Uggs in general. But I'll never stop wearing them because they make a great winter boot--and I do live in the Rocky Mountains. If they ever fall out of fashion I'll just downplay them

You look fine, don't over analyze. Your hubby's comments were out of line, pure and simple.

I had no idea what Mary Janes are (me thinks Matt may know a little too much about women's shoes...just sayin')

That's a lovely picture, and a great way to show the tartan.
My wife enjoys wearing her Mary Janes with her skirts. BTW, not all are high heeled like that. My wife has some flats that she really ejoys wearing.
Ali, looking again at your boots, I think I might like them better with jeans. Just something about the open, loose top on the bare leg, just makes it look like something is missing to my eye. But with jeans, I bet they look great.
