She might also be ticked that you sprung it on her rather than involved her in the planning and ordering. Approving of an independent decision of yours might mean giving up control to her.
What part of the world do you live in. Maybe we could organize a "Kilt In." All of us nearby could come for a visit kilted....

Hey Ron,
Yeah, I'm sure the part about not including her in the decision is huge. That falls right in line with the tattoo.
I think I need to just keep things on a low profile for a few days and see how things turn out.

I really don't think any confrentation would do much good at this point. She needs some time to think this all through.

Another thought. You might consider hitting the library and checking out any books on kilts, Scotland's history with kilts, etc. Both to show your sincere interest and give her more information.
Scottish Lion has a new supply of So You Want to Wear the Kilt for about $13...that's another good one that the library probably doesn't have.
Yeah, its manipulative....but to help her understand...

Okay, Women are funny. I still haven't figure them out yet. She doesn't mind my kilts most of the time, but she thinks I draw too much attention to the bystanders sometimes.
May be you should try to get her input about what kilt and/or sporran you should buy next.
Give her sometimes, she may turn around. Don't try to push the issue too hard. I don't want to see you loosing her because of a kilt

You don't have to worry about that. I'll give up on kilts way before I'd give up on her.
I'm just hoping we can come to an agreement.

Just ordered the "When The Piper Plays" DVD - hope it's as good as you guys say - looking forward to it over Christmas .
Dana, you have my sympathy. I've been going through much the same with my wife. I believe it is the fear of what others think that makes some wives so negative.

You're right Dana, wives are more precious than kilts, but I hope she will see that you are an exciting person, willing to break with the established order, most innovators-the great men and women of history have had that quality.
