I am glad that you joined up and welcome. I may not agree with you over a few things and misunderstood you, but it is good for you to clear things up.
Hopefully the forum will make you curious enough to try on a kilt. you don't have to tell us, f you don't to. Kilt is one of those things that you gotta try it to get it.

The handling of this thread is one good reason why I moved here, even though I wear skirts as well as kilts. I think its cool that we can agree to disagree and have frank and open discussion. It got a bit heated but thats good. Life without passion would be dull indeed.
As has been said its very easy to see the world from your own little corner and I guess I'm no different.
One of the biggest hurdles I had to overcome when I started wearing a kilt was that my wife was concerned that the neighbors would think I was gay. Now this was and is a big concern for her. She is not homophobic as she often works with gay men and women and we have friends who are gay. She just doesn't want people think her husband is. Thus the assertion that the kilt is becoming (or has become) a piece of gay clothing is disconcerting. I can only say that this is the first time I have seen such an assertion as usually the kilt has strong 'macho' associations. Getting men to wear kilts/skirts is an uphill struggle and anything that makes it worse I'm against. I've nothing against gays per se but there is still a lot of homophobia out there folks.( and all the other antis come to that)
Secondly I did find the tone of the article offensive as it implies that skirt/kilt wearers are doing it for reasons of titillation or sexual gratification. Guys - a woman wears jeans because they're practical and comfortable - that's me in my kilt - end of story!!
So can we just accept that a proportion of men wear kilts and leave out the left/right/center/straight/gay/alien/Arkansan/black/white bit?
Buy kilt -wear it -show the world !
