My usual midnight snack is two tylenol and a glass of water.... Typically trying to stop a headache and get back to what normal people should be doing!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I always wake up in the middle of the night wanting something spicy! Tortilla chips and Tobasco, or my favorite Dave's Insanity Sauce usually does the trick.

sandwiches....it doesn't matter what kind. I just love sandwiches.
My fav one always happens after Christmas. It's a turkey sandwich on homemade brown bread, a little cranberry jelly spread on one side, a little cold gravy spread on the other (instead of butter) a dash of salt and pepper. Served up with a tall glass of ice cold milk. I could eat it every day and never get sick of it.

Scrapple (for those outside PA) is basically Haggis made with pig bits and cornmeal instead of oats (and Goetta is pig with oats).

What's scrapple?
My fave sandwich is made with fried apple slices and real melted sharp cheddar cheese on sourdough bread.

I wouldn't dare wake my Sleeping Angel in the middle of the night to fix me anything. I haven't cooked for myself since we got married. Before that, it was Ramen Noodles 24/7.
Sometimes, when we're up late, Dirka makes me the most awesome grilled ham and cheese sandwich with bacon and tomatos. Talk about good! She uses real butter to brown the bread and good melty cheese.
